The hotel is located on the edge of the popular resort of Port d'Alcudia , set on the northeastern coast of Majorca. While not quite as upmarket as the nearby Port de Pollensa, the town is a pleasantly laid-back mix of tourist restaurants, bars, and hotels. Besides the adjoining Hidropark water park , there's very little immediately nearby.

The resort center and majority of its dining and nightlife -- including "Dollar Street," the nickname for Pere Mas i Reus -- is about a minute walk, or five-minute drive, away. The town's strikingly wide sandy beach -- also famed for its calm and particularly shallow waters -- is also just walkable at around 15 minutes on foot. A free shuttle bus is available to both the beach and the port. Alcudia 's old town is a minute drive, the pretty town of Pollensa is a to minute drive, and Palma de Mallorca, the island's capital and home to the main airport , is at least 45 minutes by car.

The hotel's 1, rooms are spread across three types: Standard, Family, and Premium. The Premium Rooms were all given a makeover in and have sleek contemporary wood veneer flooring and furniture.

The rest of the rooms, however, look very dated, with rattan and bamboo furnishings, tiled floors, and faded artworks. Family Rooms extend to separate bedrooms with bunk and sofa beds , and can sleep up to five guests.

Hotel Club Mac & HidroPark

All rooms open to small balconies with plastic seating, with those on higher floors commanding some impressive mountain views. Premium Rooms tend to be on the top floor, with better vistas these may even have a very distant view of the sea. Standard Room amenities are minimal, consisting of inch flat-screen TVs , old-style safes , and Wi-Fi, all of which incur a fee the TVs have six free channels, and Wi-Fi is cheap. Premium and Family rooms, however get bigger inch TVs with extra channels over 40, mostly in English and free Wi-Fi, plus kettles and cups though no tea or coffee ; Premium Rooms also provide mini-fridges.

In-room Wi-Fi was speedy on our visit, though it can slow during busier times. Despite numerous signs in the corridors reminding guests to be quiet, thin walls and overexcited kids and sometimes adults can mean rooms are prone to noise. The day starts with breakfast buffet served at all three of the hotel's restaurants ; there's one in each block and all are spacious and modern, though inevitably feel a little likes canteens. A couple of days into our holiday we were having problems with the people that were next door and after explaining the problem to reception, they moved us to another room and couldn't have been nicer about it.

The food is fine and you can always find something to suit. We have a very fussy 9 year old and she ate really well. All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone with a family as we had one of the best holidays we have ever had. The food has a great choice - too much to try. The entertainment is great - your kids will never be bored; they have Kids' Clubs as well.

Club MAC Alcudia Hotel - Port d'Alcudia | Review

The pools were clean and tidy. The rooms were the same. The staff were nice and friendly. You can't say a wrong word about this hotel. I went with my daughter and family for a week in May but wish it could have been longer. As soon as we got home we booked again to go next year for two weeks.

Would definitely recommend to anyone. Tracy Louise Leyland, GB.

The rooms could do with a little refurb. A group of 10 went with children ranging from 16 down to 9 we all had a great time. The mosquitos where a problem, most of our group where eaten by them, however I would defo go back to this hotel. It is a distance from shops and the beach, although there is a free bus every half hour which drops u off and picks u up from the beach, if u are wanting nightlife this isn't the place to be staying, or if u want somewhere quite with no children then this too isn't the place for u.

We only went for 1 week and that was long enough, don't think I could of stopped for 2 as at times things did feel a little repetative. Our room needed a refurbish - bathroom suite definately needed replacing!! However - the biggest issue was the mosquitos and considering the evening family entertainment was outside in the arena next to the lake - we were all eaten alive by the critters!!! The resort should definately look at this as a major issue for families!

It is the first holiday abroad where i felt at home and could relax knowing the children were entertained especially my youngest. Food was brilliant and was catered for all, they even had a childs section. Fresh fruit, ice cream, cream cakes etc.. Twin rooms are basic, but we upgraded to a family room which was better. There were 3 hotels situated on a large complex and there was enough to do for a week.

Beware of the charges around the complex for the bouncy castles and the motorised cars! Pools are great and nice and clean, there even was a lifeguard on duty. At night the complex could be quite noisy but as we were in a family room this wasnt so bad cos family rooms are round the back of the hotel. Not loads to do at night but we made the most of it.

There was a large cinema screen for the kids, which kept mine quiet for a bit!

I would stay at this hotel again and we had a fab holiday at the Club Mac, the food was the best, should be rated 4star really instead of 3star! It does get crowded but is definitely a great hotel. In the town of alcudia. I would recommend going alcudia, be prepared to take plenty of dosh tho.

Julie , Doncaster. Have just returned from Club Mac and the worst thing was 2 days of sheeting rain and gale force winds. I'm a single mum with 3 kids 13,12,10 and actually feel like I've had a rest! The hotel was spotless, The staff couldn't be more helpful The food was fine - always found something to munch on.

The kids thoroughly enjoyed it - made new friends and didn't really see that much of them lol. The entertainment wasn't perfect but hey thats personal choice and it is end of season! The nightly film was much appreciated tho.
